Hey, this is a question about retro bike technology - sort of. I have an old Halson 2 suspension fork- the inverted one with the rasta theme colors etc... I would like to build it up onto a bike, but the steer tube is 1" threaded, and way too short for practically any bike. Does anybody know where I could get a longer (and maybe even 1 1/18") steer tube, short of getting one custom made at a machine shop?

I remember that fork.....so cool looking.

As far as finding a steerer tube for it I think it is probably Custome time. :( I guess there is a chance you could find another H2 that is 1 1/8 but I think that is pretty slim.

What bike did you pull it off of? If you can find a MTB enthusiast who is a machinist, and is willing to take it on as a challenge. it might not cost as much.

Sounds like a tough road unless you find a 1" frame that it will fit on without mods. Are the legs bonded on the crown? I can't remember. If they are bonded you are pretty much stuck with finding an old frame to fit it.

Good luck, sounds like a project.
