short story about today:
i observe a Marine ROTC kid walking near the high school this morning, well after school had started. I ask him why he's out of school..he says he's going home to get his books. I check up on him in about 20 minutes....he's hanging out at the store! (oh yeah, he's in his utilities, btw).
so anyway, i ask him what today is..why it is special? he couldn't tell me. i kept saying stuff like "november 10, 1775 my Marine Corps came alive" and he still didn't get it. turns out he was lying to me all along, which i initially presumed. so i instinctively began berrating him about him disgracing my corps uniform and how he should go home and change and apologize to every marine he meets for being such a disgusting example, even though he's not even in...just ROTC.
aahh...every once in a while it feels good to snap back into DI mode
