Morning y'all. Went on my first ride in a month, felt surprisingly strong. Rode a 20 mile road loop and averaged 21.3 mph.

worked late last night, had a sleeping pill, just woke up and feel like I've been beat with a brick.

Tour of the white mounbtains coming up soon (oct 7th) , which is good, but I haven't trained and am signed up for the 66 mile off road race, which is...bad,

Yo all. The back is finally healing...my chiropractor said I have a most awesome deep tissue bruise coming into full bloom right between my right lumbar and kidney! Light MTB ride tonight in the 'Bush to get some circulation rolling again...

Got word that my not for profit organization got a grant/funding increase which will double our operating budget to 1.2 mill....thus I will be "offline" for quite some time and knee deep in program re-design. We have done some planning, but didn't want to do too much until we got the word. Time to get to work!

Upcoming: I'll be at Jiminy Peak this weekend trying out the back on the big bike...PM if you want to join in on the (lack of) action...

Hello. I think I'm finally recovered from the weekend. My back and legs are feeling fine again, just in time for a post-work ride with the wifey tonight.

Good morning all! Syd's still really stuffy, but doing better this morning so she's at the Sitter's and I am at work :( I hate hearing her wheeze and cough. Atleast she still gives me hugs and smiles in the morning...she's so damn cute!!!

Anyway, my legs feel great and my back finally feels better so I am thinking I may just survive the post-race fatigue :happydance: Sq-Earl's riding tonight so I may try to do some light weights and/or spinning at home...we'll see how Syd's feeling when I pick her up. Last night she just wanted to snuggle up in my arms and play with her toys which was A-ok for me!!!

How old is she now?
I think Aubrey and I will be in the same position as you guys are in, in the next few years. I don't think we could swing a house and 2 cars on 1 salary so Aubrey would have to continue working.

She's 7 1/2 months old now. Until now, she really hasn't been sick so this is all new for me. Our sitter is wonderful so I really do feel comfortable leaving her, but I hate to because I know she doesn't feel well and I could just hug her/hold her all day!

It's not too awful working because my hours aren't as bad as some and I do have holidays and the summer off...that really helps!

Yeah Aubrey's job is from 8:30 till 3pm but she's always there till 4:30. I think if we ever have a child she'll be there less.

You'll do fine. You've got that purty new Titus!

I'm up in the midst of cleaning the house at 5 in the morning. What a great way to start the day. Going for a trial run with the girl tonight afterwork.

Speaking of the girl, she's a bit pissed at me. She had left her bike in my garage last week, well, I came home one night after meeting the fellas at the bar and I guess I drove into her ride. Bent the frame, it's a goner. Anyone know if home owners insurance will cover something like this? :banghead:

Hi, everyone!

We got quite a bit of rain yesterday, so the after-work ride was out of the question, so I did the next best thing--bought stuff at the LBS!! A bunch of us are heading up to the mountains to ride this weekend, so I needed to resupply the medical kit and some misc. bike odds and ends. Got a new mini-pump, new derailleur cable, extra tubes, and a cool little case for my camera that mounts under the seat. The ride we have planned is an all day affair, so I've been going over in my head, all the different scenarios of mechanicals and what food I'm going to need, where to pack all this stuff, etc.....

I'm excited to spend all Sat. riding in the NC mountains....It's supposed to be beautiful with temps in the 70's!! :happydance:

I'm in the air about her. I DL'd her first album(?) and was unimpressed. Did she release a second yet?

Morning all, got new chain, can't wait to go riding tomorrow :)
Congrats!

I think I may start heading to "Camp Orange" after work since it's a little closer and I can gain about 15min more of riding time.

Want to try to hit up there next week?

Morning stoshy and monkeys. Not much here. Just the same work. Hopefully riding tomorrow if not a little after work today. My saddle's ripping so I need to either figure out a way to fix it or go to the LBS during lunch.

Morning all. Not much going on here in the north country. Got to swing by the LBS and order some parts for my brand new Thompson post. I drove home from Ashford Sunday with the bike on the roof and apparently didn't tighten the bolts down enough and one of the bolts/nuts worked their way loose and fell out at some point.

yeah, about 25 years after the 1st one.

_Lookaftering_ was released last year i think, after people like Animal Collective and Devendra Banhart started the groundswell of support. she was pleasant enough in concert, and seemed genuinely surprised that she'd be doing a tour so long after her debut record, but i wasn't blown away. i did dig seeing Espers again, though, even though Greg Weeks wasn't w/ them due to illness.

Ooh, details? What size camera? Is it waterproof? Brand?
Wait a sec......you're getting me confused with someone who knows something about photography. I'm super low-tech......it's just a Canon Cool Pix digi. Waterproof? .....As long as I don't drop it, I guess. The case has kind of a rubberized shell, so it keeps water from getting in. I just hate having to unstrap the Camelback to get to the camera every time, so I thought I would make it more accessable. I can't remember the name of the case....I got it at Performance.

morning all,

picked up Emma from the in-laws last night, and went to the shop, a few friends need some stuff ordered and I wanted to check out some stuff for myself. Emma played on the excercise equipment, the kids bikes, and played with some horns and bells, and in general she had fun. I ordered some parts, and bullshat for a while, and went home to find Bek had baked up some good manacotti!:happydance: (I didn't have to cook for once)

I hung out with Emma for a bit, and then worked on my bike. I found that the der. pulleys were frozen, my chain was rusted beyond repair, and my bottom bracket is indexed! I cleaned and lubed what I could, put on a new chain so in general its good enough to ride tonight! I will put a new BB in when I can this week, and a der. when I get the cash.

I am tired today. it was pretty late by the time I tightened the last few bolts on the bike... I will yawn through it, I just can't wait to ride tonight!

I was thinking the same thing and might start hitting up Vassar, even though I like riding with you guys.
Camp Orange is nowhere near as fun as Stewart but I can get in a few miles and it's closer to my house.

have you seen the cases that hook onto the camelback straps for cell phones? I think they make them for cams too because, I know a guy that has one that fits his cam. he just reaches up and its right there ready.... I will see if I can find a link!

Out of my mind, back in a moment.
Morning people.

Class, break, class, break, class. What fun today will be.

LBS up here was having a sale last night so I picked up some new shoes, some pads for those nasty places, and some new cleats for my Candys.

Good morning,

Home with a sick son, no work today. Woo hoo! - kind of. Still have to dial in and tie up some loose ends.

Also missed the Brian Jonestown Massacre show last night due to work/family issues. Oh well, next time around.

Have a good day.
