Im off to ride now. Breaking in the new Nevegals. Would you believe I lost a full POUND in wieght going from UST pythons to NON UST Nevegals (w/stans) ?

How the the heck did you get them to seal? I never had any luck with Kendas and Stans.....always some little bubbles somewhere on one of the tires that just wouldn't act right.

good sox game last night. big papi cranked out #54, and i had two foul balls come right near me (1st one almost hit me; a guy in the rampway tried to catch it but all he got was a bruised hand, it bounced behind me, rolled under my seat and hit my foot, then down the aisle and some guy grabbed it).

my bike is in the truck, but I havent decided where I'll be riiding after work.

One of my comanagers had a hissy fit yesterday, and I am pretty sure she won't be coming back to work.
Doug, me and a friend are riding Grafton 4:30/5ish (not the MHCC group ride). Join us if you want - Mill Pond/Winter parking area.

Morning monkies. Late today because of a little interview detour. I don't want to say too much, but I think things went really well! Mark, how did things go for you yesterday with your interview?

Going for my first night ride tonight with a friend who has lights. Should be awesome! I'm looking at buying a Turbocat system for around $90. Can't wait to ride Sat. too!!!

Good morning everyone! I had a close encounter with a flagger sign on my ride to work this morning. It was one of those giant orange trangle ones warning of flaggers ahead. The sing was smack dab in the bike lane leading into the roundabout and as I tried to duck around it in between the cars and it, my backpack caught on the edge of it and threw me off balance. I recovered nicely and continued on my name, but dang, why does it have to be RIGHT IN THE LANE?

Morning all! Busy morning for me and a busy afternoon to boot. We still can't seem to get our new attendance/gradebook system to work and everyone seems to think I know how for some reason and comes to me for the solution...I have no idea!

Anyway, Back To School Night is tonight so I won't get home until late which means no ride for me. I should have brought the bike and ridden with Douglas instead of going home!

The lady that teaches in the room next to my wife was manually creating these graphs of student test scores from grade to grade - plotting points and coloring, everything.... I asked why she didn't just plug the numbers in Excel and let it do the charting, she looked really confused. :bonk:

The SECRETARY in my wife's school was having each teacher type up and print a quarterly newsletter for their classroom. The secretary would then re-type each quarterly newsletters into a different program. :)

That's not inefficiency, that's job security

Trust me, I know....I teach technology/computer classes to the teachers. It's SO much worse than working with kids!
Yeah I'm like the IT guy for the school.

Aubrey is actually the most fluent in computers at her school. It's bad.... real bad....

My wife's pretty fuent as well, more than most of the other teachers. I still do her web page for her though.

They have an IT guy, but he's contract so he's never there during school hours and is very unresponsive. I'll help out the other teachers every once in awhile, but I've tried to keep a low profile else it turn into a second job and cut into my ride time.

Yeah I hear that.
I don't understand why schools don't do things to educate the older teachers.

It's frustrating, expensive and they never learn ;)
I think a lot of them don't want to learn. Ironic? Teachers not wanting to learn.....

In our state, teachers that got/get their certificate after the year 2000 have to do a professional certification in the first 5 years to make sure they're doing a good job. More credits/education for a recent graduate, meanwhile there are teachers that have been teaching the same methods, sometimes the same lesson plans, for 30 years. If you ask me, they are the ones that could use the re-education.

I definitely agree. I am a teacher that doesn't really support the whole "tenure" practice. I have no problem with re-certifications and continuing education, but then again...I am a relatively new teacher (8 years). I hate seeing teachers teaching the same lessons (same handouts, etc.) that they have been using for years & years! Mix it up a little!
