How is everybody today?

Spent the evening taking my dog to the vet for booster shots and picking up perscriptions for the wifey.
I did however watch the movie Inside Man. It was a pretty good movie!

Hope ya all have a great day!

Bill-paying day today... and I got lots of em piled up :dead: I'm very tempted to pick up one of the Bell Xrays on SteepandCheap today, but I know I should probably hold off...

A nice opportunity has presented itself at work... so I gotta get my teeth into that. If all goes well, it will get me in with a lot of the right people, which means life at the office will be much easier.

Hoping to get in a ride after work today, if the weather holds. Not much else to report on.

::EDIT::
WTF - why are all the good smilies still missing???
:dead: :thumb:... *sigh*

Hey Stosh...back at the top of the responses.

Back to work which is starting to get back to normal. I haven't mowed my lawn in a month and we look like the trailer trash of the neighborhood.

One last note...GO DODGERS!

Hey folks!

Attended a swanky dinner last night held by the company my wife works for. Very posh and hoity-toity affair. I was made to wear a tie. As usual, they were all charmed with my "Southern Gentleman Effervescence." :brows: We had a great time and I drank many gratis Stella Artois pints. Got home really late, and I'm kinda tired today, but it's all good. Beautiful day here---mid 80's and sunny as it can be.

Morning - full days worth of interviews for me. I did well and I'm one of two finalists for the position.....but I'm also a candidate for an even better more challenging job......what if I get the offer for the one I interviewed for yesterday and accept and then get an offer for the other more lucrative job?

take the offer and if the other one comes through take that one too , and tell the first one it is a no go.

That could be a sticky situation.

Glad to hear you're finding work though.

It that ethical/acceptable?

Is it ethical , for you to accept a job , then have your own company conuter offer , and you decide to stay because of that ? happeneds all the time.

I set up cpmputers for new hires and quite offten the day before they start we get a notice saying they will not be showing up. we even have some who just don't show up on the first day of work never to be herd from.

well if this first job does make an offer you can use that to pressure the other job, by telling them you have an offer but like them better. ( I actually did that once and it worked , they made me an offer 2 hrs later )

Do you know when to expect the offer for the other job?

If you do, and if it's not too long a wait, I'd probably tell the first one (at the point that they have given you the job) I needed a few days to get things in order and weigh my options before I could formally accept.

I don't know if that's smart, but it's what I'd do :D

And you are A voice of reason, so that's decent advice.

If you were THE voice of reason, then it would be excellent advice.

yea, what he said.

If the timing works out, tell them that you need a couple of days before you can make a decision. Heck, you could even tell them that you've gotten a second offer and your are weight the pros and cons of each. It doesn't happen often, but it could get you more money, if they really like you.

If the timing doesn't work out, then take the first one. If you do end up with the second offer, deal with it then. Is it ethical? That's up to you... but it certainly doesn't offend my ethics, and is a very common occurance. You don't owe them anything by accepting the first offer. Just be polite and honest with them if you do get the second offer. They'll have more respect for that than if you just jump ship for the second job.

Good luck man.

Yeah, I've been a Dodger fan ever since the Hershiser / Gibson run in 88. Been a long drought.

On the other point, Stosh, you gotta watch Lost. It's completely addicting, like they put heroin in the show or something.

And yes, there are hot chicks.
