How is everybody today?

I finally got my oil changed yesterday. I don't even want to talk about how overdue it was. Thank god I use synthetic oil! They said I need to have my transmission fluid changed as well. Man cars can be such money pits sometimes too.

What's everybody up to after work?

I am in a goooood mood today!

Weather is finally supposed to be dry, so I'm planning on riding after work. Sould be a mud fest, but I haven't been on my bike since MBW, so I'm not complaining.

Running to the LBS on my lunch break today... need new tire levers and a floor pump. If there's anythign else cheap that I can't live without, I'll grab that too.

I stopped at the new house on the way to work this morning... here are the pics you've been asking for (the rest of this post was copied from another board, so deal with it):

-----------------------

We are hoping to spend our first night there this weekend. We still need a toilet and the fridge set, but we've got 2 bedrooms done. As long as we have a place to sleep, eat, and pee, everything else can be done while we are at work.

Currently we are staying at my father's house, about 45 miles away. 2 hours of commuting is tough... not really the commute, but losing 2 hours a day to the drive. That's why we are a bit anxious to get into the new house.

Anyways... on with the pics...

Looking in through the front door. As you can see, the foyer is tiled, but the family room (to the right of the stairs) still has a long way to go.

My daughter's room - I love the way all the colors have come together.

Part of the master bath - the double sink/vanity will go on the left side of the pic... on the same wall as the window. We have the toilet and the shower off in another part of the "room".

The kitchen. One cabinet was measured wrong so it didn't fit properly. We are waiting for the new one to come in, then they are going to measure for the countertops (granite).

Not sure this one needs much explanation. The area around the front door isn't finished yet because it going to be bricked, but the mason is MIA. And those garage doors are 9' wide by 8' tall... no problem getting lifted trucks in there!

This is the view on my way to work... about 1/2 mile down the road from the house.

I got a Jeep Liberty and unfortunately it's got the tow package, which means you have to have stick arms to get at the filter and get it out. I guess it's next to impossible without a special tool. Sucks, as I usually do my own oil as I can't stand waiting for oil changes. HOMEY DON'T FOCKING WAIT IN LINE FOR AN OIL CHANGE. Now I have to succumb to trusting some idiot to change my oil and make sure they actually
1. screw it on tight enough
2. not overtighten it so it can be taken off again.
3. remember to put my filler cap back on (JIFFY LUBE)

It's 2000 phucking 4, cars should run on air and cars shouldn't need oil.
Imagine this - when did the first gas operated car come out? 1910? 20?

Welp almost 100 years later, we're still using the gasoline combustion engine to get 4 wheels to turn. Are we really that technologically advanced? I DON'T THINK SO. RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

My 4Runner is the same way... gotta reach in through the fender well and twist yourself into a pretzel to get the filter off. It's a pain.

Had the oil changed last week and homeboy pulled the skid plate off to get the filter. I was kind of surprised since the usual joint doesn't, but it certainly made it cleaner. The other joint must not care if there is oil on everything underneath. I do though.

Man I saw a libery pulling a mid size RV behind it. I couldn't believe it!!

Yeah I peeked under the hood yesterday and the dopes at the oil change place got oil all over the engine. The oil filter on many new Toyota's is on top of the engine almost. So all you do is let the engine sit for 5min and most of the oil runs out of the filter. However these dopes most have taken it off first and dumped oil all over the engine.

I too usually change my oil but I just haven't had the time lately. Leave it to American cars to make even changing the oil hard.

Yo - yeah it sucks to throw $50 at the ride for Mobil 1.
Yeah mine was $45 and I got a free carwash out of it. Wasn't to bad IMO but I still prefer to do it myself.

Nice crib man. I won't ask you how much that was, but I can tell you in massachusetts, that house would cost about $675k, it wold be on a postage stamp lot and the only view you'd have looking out your window is your neighbor taking a piss in the bathroom. That house is a dream man. Good luck.

Man you suck! You need some landscapping in front!!
yea... once all the outside work is done they are going ot do some very basic landscaping (grass, shrubs to cover the foundation, etc.). But I suspect that most of our real landscaping will be done next summer.

I'm heading to Boston on Friday for my Birthday - I'll be hanging out with my sons on Saturday and I plan on riding Sunday - maybe at the NEMBA Harpoon Adventure series ride at Cockaponsett State Forest in Chester, CT.

Any CT monkeys wanna join me for the NEMBA ride? Cockaponsett is a great place to ride.

Cockaponsett? Are you sure that you spelled it correctly?

We have Cocksackie here where I live. Silly Native Americans at it again!

Yeah I know in NY I hate it when you ride thru thick overgrown weeds too because of the tick problem.

Been a good day so far... ran to the LBS on my lunch and got a pair of socks, a floor bump (Blackburn), and some tire levers. Got back to work and ordered a Sportworks 2-bike carrier and a body lift for my truck. It's still sunny out and the trails are drying as I type.

I'm trying to figure out how my budget can support an $8 hair cut today.

My plan too but mine costs 25 :mumble: that is the going rate around me for having someone cut it that knows what they are doing...
