Happy New Year y'all.

Today is all about turning leftovers into different kinds of leftovers.

brisket & roasted vegetables -> stew
half a roasted chicken -> broth

plus spending time in the woodshop because those cabinet doors are not going to glue themselves together.

maybe i'll walk in the woods with the doggo too. she's bored. we need exercise.

Making the trek to the big city today to visit the in-laws. Always fun hovering over the little one so she doesn't destroy all the copious amounts of fragile shit they have at child level.

It's no wonder we don't visit more often when the place isn't remotely receptive to a kid.

Happy New Year y'all.

Pics of said cabinets/cabinet doors? I need further inspiration before launching into my built-in project that I will undoubtedly make significantly more complicated than it needs to be because I just can't help myself.

Finally made it home. Like a slap in the face to come from Sunny Florida to strong wind and rain in your face and basically dark by 3.30pm. At least we have communism.

Wife sick in bed with flu all day yesterday. Hoping to avoid contracting it.

Maybe a road ride once it's warmed up beyond the current 11 freedums.

Resistance is futile.
GF had flu all week. Tried avoiding it, but no such luck.
Starting the new year feeling like crap. No bikey.

Watched The Dead Won’t Die with friends. Replied to a bunch of texts at midnight. Somehow was awake for over an hour in the middle of the night… might’ve been the afternoon espresso and a fist full of sugar for dinner.

hi all

I was up at midnight, but screwing shit into the wall in the garage because I had the bug to get that done.

fed the cats. now back in cozy, cozy bed. maybe White Ranch on the new still-unridden bike later this morning, before it thaws?

was asleep by 10. The neighbor behind us did not light off any big fireworks last night. people further down the road did but at least that shit was over by 1215 instead of the usual 2 am

gonna go for a ride once it warms up a bit, 34 now

 happy new year you all.
Went to see a friend’s band last night in Breck, practically carried the girl home around 9, long before midnight.

Our plan to get up super early and skin to the top of the mountain was canceled in favor of her having a splitting headache and needing to get ready to work all day. Oof.

Your Stone Age Brain in the Screen Age, coping with digital distraction and sensory overload argues that your texting contributed significantly to lack of sleep.

Fun fact: Funen, the island that I am living on (population of 470,000), had no case of homicide in 2024.

Group ride, beers and grilling to start the year off right. Warming up by the fire now.

Probably should go over to the shop and swap out the 160 mm rotors on the downcountry rig. They proved comically underpowered for a second ride in a row…

160s are being delegated to the road realm. Current gen RS Sid is now 180 min. I expect the next gen 32 will follow that lead
