5. Met some new people (and was found by a long-lost pen pal) on MySpace.
6. Filled out some insurance paperwork (personal). (This occurs at least twice a month.)
7. Gabbed on the phone.
8. Did cardio in the gym in the basement.
9. Got annoyed because somebody finally brought some work in for me to do after 5 p.m. when it's time to go.

2) Tracked down the dist manager at the remote dist center to resolve an equipment repacement snafu.
3) Sent another email off to the equipment vendor to advise freight carrier and brokerage contact info
4) Checked some UPC numbers.
5) Resolved an invoice issue with the L/C dept.
6) Talked to a designer about the above equipment issue.
7) Talked to the dealer services manager about the above equipmnet issue.
8) Scanned 48 different documents to forward to international distributors.
9) Resolved another L/C issue involving samples for another distributor.
10) Confirmed the pricing on 50 SKU's.
11) Answered another 15 emails.
12) Read and sorted approx 80 emails. (slow day!)
13) Looked at Ridemonkey - saw that the Pink Bike factor was at low-ebb. (PM box is quiet at least)
14) Checked the Fedex Tracking on my new computer coming in.
15) Talked to the IT guy about how I want a Matrox card for my desktop system so I can run 3 monitors instead of two. He looked at me like he was going to strangle me till I told him I was kidding.
16) I have a cold. Misery is on the calendar.
17) Ate a Cliff bar for lunch.
19) Used a few Access queries to advise shipping schedules to a couple different depts.
20) It's only 3pm and I still have a mountain of reports to comb through.

07:50-09:30 email, check alarms, check performance data for a few servers (it's peak e-retail season)
09:30-16:00 Try to write a .NET application to categorize orphan messages on a message queue. Get frustrated because I use C# so seldom.
16:00 customer panic call - slow response. Determine that external transaction-based monitoring reports their site as OK, servers are loafing along, their satellite operations centers aren't complaining, and that all this just might indicate problems with their corporate network. Send 'em an email with fancy graphs to support my assertions.
17:15 head for home.
18:00 arrive

pretty easy day overall

did about one hour of theroy on Air arc metal cutting and plasma cutting.

got back my mark on a test regaurding SMAW (sheilded metal arc welding) or Stick welding. I got 90% I thought I did better but Ill take it.

welded about 15 open root jonts in the flat, horozontal,and vertical posistions, I do overhead tommorow (picture having a small puddle of molten metal above you and having to move it along betwenn two peices of metal keeping it the same size and moving the same speed. with lots of sparks!. OH and if it looks ugly, doesnt bond (or fuse for those who know what Im talking about) or get a slag inclution (a peice of non-metal inside the weld) you have to start over.

put the welds i did into a 20 ton press designed to bend my welds and if a crack devolpes more than 1/8 in long it fails and Im back to square one. eqch wels takes about one hour total to do with all the cutting and grinding I need to prepare the joint.

1 pm - 2:30 pm: evaluated for a nutrition study. looks like i'll do it -- 4 months free food! yippee x 2. rode home in not-quite-so-bitter cold

until now: bumming around. catching up on the online world.

6:45 pm-10:30 pm tonight: gig at a weird "charismatic church." anything for the $$ . yippee x 3.
