I've got an OG Droid and it lags and does funky glitches. I'm thinking a hard reset would be nice if it starts me back at the original performance. Any thing I should consider before doing it? Any other tips, like rooting it?

planned on that. data and contacts are backed up.
alot of those glitches come from too many apps on the memory, I will put all of my apps on the SD card
i tried removing apps, and moving to the SD card as many as would allow it. still pissy.
If you root it, you can back everything up with Titanium Backup, and restore what you need after the reset.
seconded. works like a charm when i have to hard reset.
Plus you can always load up another ROM on it like Cyanogen.
hard reset is awesome. should have done long ago.
How did you backup your data and contacts? I would love to do a hard reset on my Droid. It's getting slow.
I have gmail, so all my contacts are backed up there. I plugged my USB into my computer to copy all pictures and other data. The data on the sdcard should't get touched, but I copied stuff just to be safe.
