I don't mean to be a cynic, oh hell, yeah I do, you can do better than a haro. Surf the used bikes section here, anything you find will be better. They used to be a good bmx company back in the day, but they have never been a good mountain bike company. Someone is going to fry me over this so I guess I should say that it's just my opinion.
i use to ride a haro extreme and they are good, sturdy bikes. i believe it has 6 inches
6 inches that feel like 2. Honestly, the x3 I rode was so stiff it's pointless, I could never get more than like 3" of travel out of it.
I got 2 firends with haro's, an x1 w/an old crapy shock whose name i've forgotten, and an x3 w/ a brandnew boxxer. Felt fine to me, but i have a crappy bike.

i ride an 03 haro escape 8.1 and it has given me nothing but trouble. Let Haro stick to BMX and spend your $1600 on something better

sorry i just had a good idea. Buy a transition dirtbag and build it up, you can probably do that for around $1600 and you'd have a much better bike.

Hey why don't you get a bighit comp? It kicks the x3's scrawny ass anyday and it's only like $200 more.
I had a BigHit Comp back in 03 broke the lower swing arm and Specialized told me to go **** myself.
maybe cause it was your fault it broke
