So I don't have much loot to deal with so I am trying to work with what parts I have around.

I bent the spider on my DH bike some how and I don't have a warranty claim to work with. I have the same cranks on my DJ bike. I am going to try using the older XT splined cranks and bottom bracket on my DJ/Mtnx bike so I can swap the existing cranks on that bike to my DH bike.

So has anyone tried this with good results or bad results?

I know how, you hit a big rock.

I think you'll be fine. At most you're worried about flex so I say go with it. Neither of us do drops to flat or case big enough jumps to worry about breaking them. I've got some 175 ISIS Race Faces if you want those on your DJer
