Hey guys, I entered in this hat design contest and the first round is popular vote. Check it out and vote for my design here let me know what you think.

I'm too old to wear that hat, but the rendering is nice despite the background being too strong (20% black background flood and 30ish% black ribbons might look better). What software did you use and did you take pen to paper first?

The shoe design, drawing? Looks clipartish.

I did all the line work in illustrator and then used envelope distort to warp it around the hat and finally threw it into photoshop for a quick emboss on the stitching.

I didn't really do much drawing ahead of time, it was kind of just like, "wouldn't it be fun if a did a hat with an AM90 with the air bag popping" so I just went for it.
