NORCAL is the hizzle
No but I like telling the story of my old bike shop boss who, after having a fancy bike ripped off on a "test ride" scam, jumped in his van, looked all over town for about four hours, and ended up basically running the guy down after chasing him across a field in the van.

He got the bike back and gave the dude a beat down before calling the cops.
