I just got back from P-kill and i had a good time but i had some problems with my rear hayes mechanical disc brake. I came up short a couple times on a double and i hit the rear wheel kinda hard and then my brake lever wouldnt go back as far. Normally the lever would pull about and inche and a quarter until the wheel locked up, but after i landed the double it would only move about a quarter of an inche. After a while it just went back to normal and felt fine but i couldnt figure out why it did this. Anybody have any ideas??

the lever is pumping up !!!!

...or more than likely one of the pads got jarred out of place and after riding a bit it fell back into place. i would check both of the pads retaining springs and for damege to the piston's post.

next time you go for the double just think...."F---k it!!!"
