Had 2 brand new pig pro dh's installed on the 2002 super8 and both have been giving problems.
First one when turning the steering left or right it got tight at the ends of the turns inspected the headset and notice metal shaffing coming off the top cap where it meats the other cup that holds the bearing and ring that holds the steering tube in place.
Had a second one installed thinking it was a defect now the turning tightness has gone away but the cap is still make metel shaffing. On both there has been no play or movement and have only rode two freeride season with each. The fork is a Shiver dh 2001 with a spacer under the top crown also thinking maybe a slight bend in the steering tube.
Anything that you all might think is wrong hate to go out and buy another headset.

Sounds like maybe the head tube needs to be faced.

Yeh I have the right crown race on the fork.
Whats odd is that there is no play what so ever it just kind of worries me to see that the top cover doesn't fit right, when it was first install it fit perfect but after a sesion it must of moved but there is still no play or movement.
Maybe it does need to be faced.
