same pig dh pro, but different problem.

i cant tighten it enough to get rid of play without having it bind as it turns. i have a fair amount of spacers, but have tried it with them on top and bottom. The race isnt seated all the way on the steerer, but its level and not going anywhere...is this the prblem?

I had to have mine put on at the lbs still have a problem with the cover not sitting on right but decided hell with it the lbs said it should hurt anything if I wanted it fix I need to face the headtube this will cost $60 no way am I going to pay that.
I had a similar problem with my first pig except it was fine until you get to the ends of the turns on the steering it would tighten up. I think this was do to putting the headset on getto way unstead of having the lbs do it. You need to make sure that the cups are in straight and make sure your race is on the right way and not upside down the top of the pig pro dh does not sit flush with the headtube because it is flanged that is normal.
So far my experience with the pig is not a pleastant one.

 $60 to face a headtube? Dude, call around to some other shops if you can. I paid $25 to have mine done.

play in the headset...
Dont ride it like that. Anything too rough with even the slightest amount of play can cause you to crack your frame...and guess what. When they see where the crack is they will know why and wont warrantee your frame.

When my HSs get past the point where they can be tightened I replace them. Only thing is this is rare because HSs are hard to wear out if you have a good or even a decent one.

Ive got one thats 4 years old and still working great, so unless your s is pretty old you should send it back or take it in.
