Has anyone succesfully converted a cannondale frame from a headshok to a normal 1 1/8" headset and fork ?

what headset/reducer cups did you use ?

are the adapters heavy ?

what fork did you put on and any long terms issues ?

I see, they sell there lower end bikes with Manitou Axles and there spec lists says "FSA reducer" for headset but FSA have nothing on their site, must be an OEM thing.

Cannondale can hook you up with reducers. It's no different than reducing a 1.5" headset - they're just big chunks of aluminum that press into the headtube.

thanks, all being that the headshok isn't "1.5 standard", but yeah the principle should be the same.

however, only Gemini's are 1.5 standard right ?

I read somethnig on their site that if its 1.5 standard then the cups are 22mm deep and if its just headshok then the cups only go in 11mm ?

I presume onve the cups are in then yuo just nedd a 1 1/8" headet and stem......oh, and a fork, right ?

YEah, you just put the cups in, and from that point forward pretend you have a 1.125 head tube.

I've done it, the reducer cups don't have much insertion depth to 'em but they work fine. It's not a DH bike anyway (hopefully)...

Yeah i have done that. I got those reducers.Used them for fitting a Moto120 fork to my former C'dale F900 sx. Just press those reducers in to your headtube, and you have to make use of a ordinary aheadset. For 1/1/8 inch. Press that alswell in it, and put the fork in it.And install the rest and you can go ride on.:)

The aheadset was Fsa The pig downhill pro.
