Gotta wonder who slipped this by the censors.

the only thing that slipped by the foxnews editors was the title "Five reasons Americans already love ObamaCare", when clearly they meant to write "Five reasons African-Americans already love ObamaCare"

colorado residents are being farmed out to a state run site, and here's the message (in a marquee banner that screams lowest bidder for building the website):

"Welcome:Due to overwhelming interest, we are temporarily suspending the creation of accounts. Please continue to browse plans. Thank you for your patience."

bear in mind, enrollment ends 31oct.
how awesome is that?

I did notice that faux was running a "related" article on how "Obamacare already a disaster" because a couple of the websites were 404ing in the first 4 hours of the day. You know as well as I do that if it's that much of a problem, enrollment will just be extended.

CO website works for me. I will have to spend some time perusing that. It's only a question of "how long" before the airline dumps us all into an exchange. Personally, I can't wait. Fvck UHC.

Edit: according to CO's website:
Open Enrollment is from October 2013 through March 2014
Seems like plenty of time to me.

Jesus Christ on a crutch. If one is to believe what my employer claims about the portion of my health insurance it's covering, I can do significantly better on CO's exchange. Hell, I can pick up the two bottom plans for cheaper than just my portion of of my employer provided health care. Thanks Obama!

Edit!: Highest level "Gold Tier" plan (there is no "platinum" plan) through the Colorado Health Co-Op is $280+/- less per month than what my employer claims my health care costs. The only "platinum" level plan (which includes a halfway decent vision plan) is offered by Humana, for a cost-to-me of a shockingly cheap $598.40, $481.60 less per month (on average) than what my employer based health care costs.

Sure seems like a communist takeover to me.

can you opt out @work & pick this up? and will you get the same level of care, to possibly include the same network? would suck to get a different specialist each time & have to wait 2 mos to be seen for a mobility issue (knee/back/neck)

It's my understanding that if your employer provides health care, you can not enter the exchange. I seem to recall reading somewhere that this might be an option in the future but I'd have to go look for it. It will not surprise me, at all if the airline tries to dump all health care onto the feds/states. Even if they continue to pick up 2/3, and they should, there is no way they can't save money.
I don't know in the case of specific individuals, but I currently visit CSHP and Penrose St. Francis for my medical needs, (I get a volume business discount! :twitch: )and there are probably 6-8 plans specifically offered by CSHP on the exchange. I haven't looked into those yet so I can't rightly compare them to what I have now. When I did the numbers above I just picked the lowest cost, one in the middle, and then highest cost plans. It's certainly possible that there are better options tucked away inside the website that I did not see in the 20 minutes I spent looking.

I was sent the "memo" today at work stating that if your employer meets the minimum threshold of HI, then you can't opt out. Was looking to do the same as you, Pesqueeb. I have had it with my HI plan here at work and *could* get the same level of plan at a lower rate on the exchange with the subsidy.

Facking home birth costs next month better blow out my deductible!

ladies and gentlemen, the following statement was posted on a fox news website:

Let me put it more bluntly: your insurance companies have been taking advantage of you and the Affordable Care Act puts in place consumer protection and tells them to stop abusing people.
but, socialism?

so word on the street is that the right wing / tea party et al have been behind a lot of the ddos attacks on the gov't health care website

the only thing that surprises me about this is that there are tea partiers smart enough to figure how to conduct a ddos attack

While I don't doubt that, the site seems to be such a ****-show that merely attempting to log into the system could be considered an 'attack'.

go with your first instinct.

when i commented how Chow would eat a gun after all this past week's testimonies, my boy back east says:
I don't think so. He is not giving up information and is taking a lot of arrows for the Obama administration.

If he were to be completely transparent. He would tell congress about all the demos that he had to stop because FFM never worked. I attended them and I saw how pissed he was. He would also tell congress how pissed off he was with CGI.Many times in the XOC (exchange operations center) he would call them and tell them off. Now they are spilling the beans on him, you will notice how he is caught off guard with discrepancies with his testimony and what CGI told the government.

He was real quick to send out his Asian mafia spies to come talk to me about why my project was so behind schedule. I threw it back at them telling them that ldap and the virtual machines were not ready. I did get caught up to schedule by working massive overtime.

You can imagine that I get a good laugh watching those videos.

do you really think that core functionality issues are an excuse for deliberate attempts at sabotage / cyber attacks?
do you really think racist pensioners will take a break from browsing Maxine strips to contribute to this gunpowder plot?
