I have a Bullit with Rear 321 and Front 823 wheelset, Maxxis Minion DH tires front and back, an '02 Super T, and FSA V Drive Extreme cranks with an E13 DRS. I am looking to do more trail riding and urban with the bike and the weight is just killing me. I still want to be able to do drops and DJ with the bike and I am not super smooth. I am thinking about throwing some xt/317 built wheels with front QR, Kenda Kinetic single wall tires and an 'O3 Z1 on the Bullit. For durability, will I be better off getting a newer heckler and using the heavier wheelset (and get a burly single crown with a thru-axle) or lightening up the Bullit? I am not concerned about losing an inch of travel, (the Bullit is an '01 with a Pushed fox RC). I weigh 180lbs and again I am by no means the smoothest rider out there. Thanks for the help. :thumb:

I would suggest putting on a lighter single crown, light tires and tubes (if you have dh tubes in it now) and see how that feels at first. Remember lighter tires lose a lot of rotating weight and it "feels" much lighter. My friend had a bullit built up for slalom and street...light with durability still in mind...and it felt great for djing and street use, I was really suprised how comfortable it was. If those changes aren't enough for you take a look at other parts first because the bullit is a great frame for all around use.
