My shop did not have a crankset to put on my new frame so they just slapped on the old internal bb with a shimano xt 3 piece square spindle crankset from like 2003. Does anybody have any ideas about how to remove it. And dont say use a huge mallet because I know that doesnt work already.

use a crank puller fo the crank arms, and an splined bottom bracket tool to get both sides of the bb out... come on spalding!

Well I knew how to get the cranks off, but I couldnt get the bb cups off because the damn spindle was sticking out so far that when I went to turn the bb tool with an allen key, they allen did not go all the way in because the spindle was keeping it from doing so. But I solved the problem with a good thinking session and decided to use a ratchet for the job. Now, my new cranks are installed and your help was very much appreciatied especially you IH8Rice, couldnt have done it without you.
