Helmet sizing question

I tried on a full-face helmet at my LBS today and couldn't decide if I should get the medium or large. I've decided I need a full-face helmet for my trip this spring to Moab (drools over Porcupine Rim...) and maybe Fruita. I don't really feel like leaving part of my face in the middle of the desert...

The medium fit, but felt a bit tight. Are the full face helmets sorta like ski boots, where they feel a little tight at first but "pack out" over time? If so, I'm thinking I'd go with the medium. The large felt secure on my head, but if it packed out, it would probably rattle around a bit. Any thoughts?

Yes, the padding will compress over time. Get the Medium.

LBS's need to set up a DH bike with it's front fork bolted to a paint can shaker to test helmet fit. :sneaky:
Hey bro, you just hit 666 posts

And make that a rigid fork with Velcro gloves & grips, so you can't easily let go :sneaky:
