Hiding from the stupid
Sorry for the spammy nature of this post but my local trail system needs help. It is up for a Bell Built grant and we are currently losing, to Michigan of all places. This can't stand. We need your votes. A promo video and link to the voting site is below.

Edit: You can vote for Sandy Ridge by going to the downhill section of the voting.

Yes, it involves Facebook and some stupid app but this is important. In 25 years of riding, Sandy Ridge has done more to increase the riding quality of my life than any other development. It's special for just a few of the following reasons.

- Portland is sorely lacking for close in riding opportunities. This place gets over 2000 trips down the trails on a busy weekend. It will get used.
- It took an area that had little recreation opportunities and gave it a mountain biking focal point. It is off the radar of the enviro nuts that fight everything. Downhill riders have the right away and it is one of the few places where you can let it rip without worrying about other users.
- The trails are designed for the hard core enthusiast when pretty much everything else managed by a government agency gets designed for the lowest denominator.
- It is a year round resource which is rare in these parts. The official stance is to ride it when wet and they will fix/armor as needed. Who else does that? Nobody.
- A lot of the trail work is done by local teens that wouldn't have other job opportunities.
- A lot of the trail work is done by volunteers.
- The area has good all mountain trails but is sorely in need of a DH trail.

To add a little content to the spam. Most of the video is shot on the original trail up there. There are newer and flowier trails that get most of the love but the original is bad ass. Also, the bike in the video does not exist.
