Ok, this might get a little complicated, so bear with me. I want to change how my shock is mounted on my bike in order to gain easier access to adjustments. The shock is a Manitou Swinger with a piggyback reservoir. The bushings/eyelet adapters on each end are different widths, and in order to change the shock's position, I need to swap the bushings from one end of the shock to the other. My question is: how do I swap the bushings? They are pressed in tightly to the shock's eyelets, and as you can see in the 3rd picture, there are 2 separate pieces that come together in the middle of the eyelet (indicated by blue arrow). Do I need any tools to remove and re-install these bushings (if that's what they're actually called), or will a vice and a rag suffice?

the vice grip thing is the only way i know how to get they out, but i think the bushings on either side have different O.D. so they are not swapable(at least this was the cas on my 4-way air). i say call answer and ask them on their requimendations(man i cant spell).

They're spacers not bushings. The bushing is the little round thing inside the eyelet. Just grab the spacers with a vice grip and twist them out. You're not really supposed to reinsert used spacers but you should be fine.

those arn't bushings, theyre eyelet spacers. Bushings are the very hard plastic rings in the eyelets. To get the spacers out just yank em with vise grips, dont worry if your spacers look bad, theyre spacers :monkey:

I use a bench vise to tug them out and to press them back in. Works well.

Success! I wrapped the spacers with a piece of an old tube and went to work with a set of vice grips. They popped right out with minimal cosmetic damage. Thanks for the help guys. :thumb:
