Hi all,
I'm thinking about drilling a hole in my Sunday morning 24 forks so that I can fit a front brake (old school style!).
Has anyone done this?
If so what drill bit should I use - type and size.
I have access to a drill press but any other advice is welcome.
Best Regards
Ian

Hi all,
I'm thinking about drilling a hole in my Sunday morning 24 forks so that I can fit a front brake (old school style!). Why? those brakes cant stop worth a damn and make a bike look like a huffy.
Has anyone done this? Probably
If so what drill bit should I use - type and size. get the brake you want to run and stick its bolt into a drill index, use a drill bit meant for metal
I have access to a drill press but any other advice is welcome. get a good centerpunch mark before drilling so the bit does not walk
Best Regards

As stated, old calipers suck.

Find someone to weld 990 mounts on your fork or wait for the ones that will have mounts on them already.

There is another option. at 990 brake plate, if you can find one. it bolts onto your fork like a caliper but has mounts for 990's.

I was thinking of the plate option. Presumably the hole size will be the same as for caliper brakes?
