HELP!

My edco hub for my schwinn has developed lateral play in the freehub. It's not spinning, so it shouldn't be destroyed yet, but it's loose. Does anybody know what I can do? I couldn't get the axle nut off, but supposedly my friend's shop did, but they didn't know what to do once inside. Any suggestions? Maybe a missing spacer or something? Help?

Id say screw the whole edco set up and get a razorrock. The Freehub busted on mine. It sucked. Even the yetis now dont come with edcos, they come with RR's!

How can anybody produce this kind of ****! I got the same kind of problems with the freehub as any body else. I had a look indside the hub today, but could not do anything. The problem is due to impropper specifications in the freehub bearing.

Edco don't respond on my mails: Do any of you have a name or email adress that works?

What is Yeti taking for the new RR-hub?

ThorUSA is the USA distributor of Edco. I toasted mine in NZ and Thor fixed it when I got back to the US. I think they have revised internals now:

another choice would be...

160mm spacing, 15mm axle hub. 5 sets of bearings, 3 pawl design. all White Industries has is a picture of the hub, I'm not sure if it's actually into production. if i only had a yeti....

yo....ok, so i emailed edco from their website, and got a reply to call this guy at khs bikes. He was going to sell me a new freehub for 60, but gave me it at cost for 50. Kind of sucks that i had to pay, but i like to ride my bike.

They screwed up in the original design. They had a little ball bearing in the original, along with 3 pawls. I think what happens is the bearings gets loose and destroys itself, and then the pawls go. The new freehub has 4 pawls and what looked like a better internal design. I just put it back together and rode it around today.

Yeah, the 20mil is the way to go, but to spend ANOTHER 350 after i just paid 200 for the crap edco........... Anyways, so far i'm happy.

Email is there...i can give you Karl, Edco's US distributor's number if you need it. I recieved a reply within 2 days, called him, and when i had it shipped i got it two days later, good job!
