I have an older laptop that I'm using as my computer and I'd like to rip some CD's so I can have copys in my car and whatnot.

I know I can get a USB burner but I'm having trouble finding one...

I'd like to spend less then fifty bucks, if possible. I don't need the fastest or smallests, just something that I can burn with.

suggestions?

Do you have a CD burner in another computer that you wouldn't mind being an external drive for both?

You can simply buy an external enclosure, toss your existing CD burner in it, and swap it between computers whenever you want. Newegg.com has a ton of external enclosures.

I don't need dvd's though.. other then having a ton of extra storage space for songs, why would I need/want a dvd? plus, they are more expensive..

BV- no, I don't have a burner in another computer.. that's a good option if I did though.
