my friend is getting a recoil next week and he needs help with sizing , he is 1.80 m tall (about 6 ft) and wheighs about 160 lbs.
the recoil comes in 16 " and 18" and he doesnt know what will be better for him - the bike will be used for dh and fr.
another issue is the romic spring , should he get 350 lbs or 450 lbs spring?

any input will help -

around 6 feet= 18", no question.

For what its worth I'm 6'2" 165lb and rode a 18" last year, I would have rather been on the 16". The shorter wheelbase would have been nice in the corners and the relaxed seat tube angle can still fit a taller person.

edit: forgot, I also ran a 450lb Romic and 450lb Ti Avy

Well..... I am 5'9'' @ 150lbs. and i am riding ssaddict's old frame and its an 18'' and feels good for DH, i agree with him about the shorter wheel base though, but i am running a 400# spring and it is WAY too soft for my liking(but i set it up for DH & FR) and am throwing on a 500 or 550 today, so 350 is totally out of the question but 450 might work if you like it but i'd reccomend a bit higher. BTW, talk to Neversummersnow, he had mine before me, and also Dirty J has a recoil too.

I'm pretty short so I need the small, but I see a lot of tall guys running the smalls because they say that thay can throw it around.
