Is his the extrenal ALuminum cranks or are they the BMX style 3 peice cranks?

If it is the BMX one....there are spacer(s) to put inside between the bearing over the axle and then install the non-drive side. Now it is a feal as you go thing. You want a little tension from teh inside spacer on the inside race of the bearing. Being carefull not to side load the bearings as you install the outside spacers and arms.

With some attempts and spacer changes you can space the cranks correctly and load the bearings evenly.

It is not impossible but it may take some trys before it is "right" and not "close"
