are plans of going to South Florida in December fell through, so we are having to make new plans. so far we are leaning towards NYC, San Fransisco, or somewhere tropical like mexico or somewhere else in the carribean. We are gonna go the week before X-mas, so we kinda leaning towards NYC but are still looking for ideas. Any suggestions?
THANX!

wow, you two are my heros. Getting married in exotic places, taking vacations, biking together, having sex.

All inclusive resort in Jamaica... chillin' to the max. If you can afford it, it's pricey. Or a cruise to Bahamas. Go to the waterpark where you slide thru a transparent tube thru a shark tank!

Well, you southerners might like that snow stuff but I would rather go somewhere were it is warm and sunny. I pick you go to Hawaii but that might get a little expensive.

Why not make new plans to go to S FL? That time of year is really nice down here. Hit the Keys or something. You can always fly to Miami or Ft Lauderdale pretty cheaply and rent a car.

NYC during the holidays is a blast, my wife and I have gone every year since we met. Yeah, it's cold as hell... but the city is so alive and there are so many things to do that you'll barely notice it. Just dress warmly!!!

yeah we are kinda tryin' to keep it on the cheap tip. Jamaica is a possibilty but still kinda expensive & Hawaii (sp?) is deffinetly too expensive. We can go to Mexico (cancun, cozumel, isle mujeres) cheap and NYC is gonna be decent too, I found airfare for $215 roundtrip & we wouldnt need a car.

we thought about going skiing...well going to learn to ski (more likely snowboarding) but that seems out of our budget plus dont you have to buy a bunch snow clothes & stuff?

Mexico is a LOT of fun...it's really pretty there too...I've been to Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas...Cabo kicked ASS...beautiful there and it's a lot of fun. I'm heading to Cancun in November...that's on the Carribean side of Mexico...never been there but I heard it's really fun and there are tons of things to do there...Oh and the locals are all very nice...they may hate us, who knows, but at least they aren't a dick to your face when they're taking your money like SOME places I've been...

one warning however, if you go to nyc remember that everything is way expensive compared to what we have here in the south. hotels and everything are rediculous especially around x-mas.

well, my parents just moved to Pompano Beach, so while our trip down there in Dec. fell through, we are deffinetly going down there in Feb or March.

Biggins-I tried for Pisgah believe me. :(

We just got back from Vegas, although I wouldnt mind parking it at the Hard Rock's pool for a week. :D

DH_girlie-you will enjoy Cancun, just be sure your liver is ready ;). there are several day trips from there you should do too, if you have time.
It is hard to resist Cancun b/c we can go to a all-inclusive resort for supa cheap & whats better than free alcohol?

You shouldn't knock NYC in Dec till you've tried it. It usually isn't to cold by then and it's a beautiful place around the holidays.

My vote would be for tropical. And all-inclusive if you can swing it. That's the way the wife and I are going to do it for our next vacation.

we will check that out when we go down in feb/march. I think we stopped there for a day on our way to the Keys a few years ago. I bought the biggest avacado I have seen in outside Marathon. it was as big as my head & made a huge batch guac with it. damn, now i want to go down south now. :(

Haha... I bought my current house in 2001. I have always liked the tree in the back yard. However for the first time since I have lived there I realized it is an Avacado tree. So now it is freaking fruiting and droping Avacado's all over my backyard. I couldnt figure out why my dog would go outside and not come back in after he was done doing his business. He was busy munching on them!

When you come down, let me know you can have all the fruit you can carry.

Yeah, you don't need snow clothes, but for a beginner snowboarder, a pair of waterproof shell pants (to slip over your ordinary warm clothes) is a really good idea. You'll be sitting on your butt quite a bit, and having a frozen ass does not make the experience much fun. You can pick up a pair of waterproof/beathable pants from Campmor for around $30 and up.
