Hey All--

Now before you all start saying I should replace the fork, let me remind you that I won this frame/fork on Alaina's first b-day, so I have no intention of replacing it.

I'd like to beef up the spring/MCU stack in my fork, and am having troubles locating replacements. I contacted C-dale, and since it's an older fork (I believe it to be either '98 or '99), they do not have the internals. I also contacted Hippietech, and it looks like I'm out of luck there.

Would any of you know where or who I would contact for possible parts? I'd like to get heavier springs, since I'm having troubles dropping my weight.

Thanks for the input.

your best bet will be trying to find dealers in your area and seeing if any of them have parts. Or maybe someone here has some.

Definitely call local dealers, I'd try looking for the smaller mountain oriented shops first. They seem to have more of a habit of keeping old stuff around longer than needed than the bigger or road shops do. Maybe even try looking on eBay and the like, you probably won't find springs but who knows...there may be someone selling your same fork but with heavier springs. Since it's a bit dated I can't imagine that even a whole fork would cost too much. Good luck.

Thanks, Z and DF. Not to sound unappreciative, however, I did try the local shops. Both ending up being rather stand-off-ish with my request of contacting C-dale. I've also tried Ebay, and have seen them from time to time.

Oh well, guess I'll keep fishing...............
