this has been bugging the hell out of me for longer than i care to remember....
and now it's still happening with heron release.
i've got the dreaded nvidia problems with my laptop display (dell somethiing---i'll have to get specs when i get home). basically it's the standard nvidia 128Mb laptop v card actually it's: 128MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400M GS
now, the drivers seem to work perfectly fine during normal use. compiz works sufficient enough when i want it running.
BUT--when i close the the lid, the laptop doesn't always come back from sleep, and i refuse to keep the machine awake.
now, even though the screen is blank, i can type password and get in but user switching is more difficult (i.e. i have to press alt+s and wait 5 seconds. real annoying, i know).
does anyone have any ideas??
i gotta say though, i'm still missing the days of feisty. now that was one kickass release.
