Would i be able to fit a 26" wheel with a 2.5 hookworm or a 2.4 highroller when the dropout is at its max 16" position. Im talking about the 2004 model frame. thanks
their website says rear 24" only with a max tire size of 2.8. replaceable derailleur hanger/disc brake mount.
im sure you know that. not sure what the O.D. of your wheel/tire combo is but a 24 x 2.8 can be pretty tall.
I think 2.4 is pushing it. Someone on RM (ssk?) posted a pic a while back of an endless with a 26x2.0 Larsen squeezed into the back. Also, I recall Metal posting a pic of his parkbike with a 26 squeezed in the back. Ask him.
A low-profile 26" might squeeze in. But what's the pont? there are plenty of other frames to waste money on that needn't be precariously jury-rigged into running a 26.
There isnt any good reason to buy such a pricey frame and not run the wheel it was deisigned for. Maybe take a peek at the 243? Cheaper and much bettererer of a bicycle in my experience.
I checked and a 26 x 2" is about max. If you took a big hammer and beat in the cross brace for clearance you could go a bit bigger. You know, it's hight, and not width for clearance issues. If you really want to know "exact clearance" I can check again and get back to you.
Anybody see the custom yellow 26" Street Sweeper that Joe had at Interbike?
I sat on it for about an hour, nice.
