It's a start, going ALL Hope is the way to go you know.

I would have said you should have got them from me, but I wouldn't want Tame Ape curling up in a ball and crying again.:D

I actually bought a used pair of Hope C2s.

they sucked
C2's need to be in good working order to perform properly. Plus with it's adjustability they can be a pain in the butt when the lever all of a sudden goes to the bars because of the fluid heating up. It just takes a while to understand and adjust them while riding a C2.

C2s were the most reliable Hopes I ever had. I rode them on a DH bike and they worked fine. Never even had too much of a problem with the closed-system expansion.

er...i had some C2s, and under heavy load/heating, the fluid would expand and the brake would lock up; the lever wouldn't go soft.

i guess it does take a while to understand them. :bonk:

seriously, because we needed a brake with an operational learning curve and 'blue screen of death'.

Silly British!

I have a set of old hope brakes sitting in my parts bin. bled them a few times, never got them to work right. Really not that impressed, but then again, they are old, and I guess they were free for a reason

Never had any Hope stuff... i've been using the old Shimano XT 4 piston that looked alot to me like a ripoff of Hope. Been very happy with them for years, so if and when the calipers die, i'll look at Hope first to replace them since Shimano doesn't make them anymore.

How are they ever going to fail? Best brake ever IMO.

because they're easy to use and set-up and don't require a pile of shims? :busted:
Hope's do take a few minutes longer to set up (Newer ones are the same set up now as Avid & Hayes etc). The shims have never been a problem for me, sorry they are too far advance for your mechanical ability to figure out.
