if you can separate the braking forces with a sealed bearing and a brake rod, that's my first choice.

Yeah, jordan has been riding regularly on the street and skate park. I am about to have the new ride finished. Well, finished for now, the monster and 24's are going before next summer to make way for a race fork and 26's.

I have heard nothing about the 05 ADHCS? are they adding races to the schedule?

As an Intense M1 owner I dunno WHY in the world you'd choose a floating brake for it. FSR is fully active under braking, so there's no need for a floating brake.

Single pivots are the bikes that if anything should have a floating brake. They have the most issues with stiffening up and what not, probably why most single pivots you see either now are comming with floating brakes or they are a popular add-on for them (kona, santa cruz, orange, foes) all come with them stock on their single pivots.

I saw that on Ebay. It just made me think "what kind of tard puts a floater on a 4-bar"

as i understand it, every major suspension design out there, including a horst-link/FSR has brake induced stiffening. just that it is much more pronounced with the single pivot designs. so yes, the m1 can benefit from a floater...as they are not FULLY active under braking. however, i'd say the benefit/weight ratio of a floater on a m1 is minimal IMHO

Very true, FSR bikes don't "show" it as much as a single pivot per say, so I'll agree there, all bikes have it, just some show it more.

I just couldn't see a floater being as big on a M1 as say a Bullit. I've never felt like my M1 has sucky braking over bumps. My cortina stiffen's like a mofo but the Intense just plows threw stuff.

I don't think the weight is really worth it. Not like the assembly weighs 9lbs or anything, but it just doesn't seem worth it, unless it's free :)

Supposedly theres goin to be 8 races. 3 in Cass (all diff. courses), 1 in DD, 1 in Mena, 1 in Missouri, 1 in Oklahoma and somewhere else because the Eureka Springs race was dropped. So there going to be 8 races and it's not going to be ADHCS anymore, somethin like Mid-South Race series or something.
