Did the C-Dale prototype you saw at Dalton look anything like this bike?? Found this photo on a German MTB site when using the new Google bar on RM to search for info on the upcoming C-Dale Prophet. THe Google bar on RM works great btw!

Was this what you two guys saw?

That could be it. I only saw it from behind but I thought there was a rocker link on it, but I did not have the tightest grasp on reality at that point. The shock location is like I remember it though.

The rear shock was mounted differently. It had a rocker arm that extended from behind the seat tube to a pivot at the frame and then to the shock. The shock mounted directly to the downtube instead of that cross brace and had 2 different mountings to probably change the travel. When I first saw it at the bike wash, it was running a swinger with the chamber on it. The second time I saw it (on the race course and it could have been a different bike??) it had a Progressive 5th Element air shock. It was late and dark out so.....jdcamb

I did some full write ups in other threads, search for Dalton if your interested. But to sum it up I felt better than ever, managed to get second place and break my hand in a crash. Met a bunch of the northern monkeys and had a great time.

Haven't seen you since Greenbriar, you been racing at all?

nice dude, except for the wrist.

haha, at greenbrier i found out that you have to train to race Jr x. then i had to race JR x since i was racing in the mid atlantic super series which for some reason has no sport junior category. ive kinda gotten out of shape between the AMBS dying out and senior week.
but from there i went on to do mediocre in a few races, then i went to the nationals. at snowshoe we got there late and barely made the start. I pushed myself too hard for the first mile, which i somehow managed to lead, then i threw up on the first technical section. i tried to chase for the remainder of the lap and a half and kept crashing and managed to catch one guy. For graduation, i got a FR bike, so i decided to do some DH at snowshoe, i found out that a rooty mudslide is not the best learning experience and you should wear goggles in deep mud, so i decided not to race. at mount snow, i finished dead last because i had a mechanical plus i was out of shape. then i went to race DH and finished dead last since it was my first DH race, but i definitely had a lot of fun practicing and doing some stuff i would never have tried before. Even though i lost i had fun even on the xc courses.

what races are you gonna hit up for the rest of the year?

I'm out of action for at least a month 'cause of the hand. But after that I want to do the Hoo Ha and the rest of the East Coasters series. Then I am considering heading off to Whistler for the Solo 24 World Championship, I just got my invitation letter from Adrenaline yesterday. :thumb:

ill be going to West Virginia University in august following Westy into Mechanical Engineering :D (but as a dual major with aerospace engineering, don't really know what aerospace engineering is but it gets me in state tuition)
