It seemed super hard so I figured it might behave differently, nope, went tacky like normal plastic.

I wish someone made a deet free product that worked.
ETA: I try to keep my garlic consumption and BAC high so I don't generally use bug dope, but both of my children are delicious [to mosquitos] and have found that this works for them:

Icaridin has been reported to be as effective as DEET at a 20% concentration without the irritation associated with DEET

Will have to see if I can find it in Oz.
Tried a product with 20% this stuff, it was useless.

They do, it's called winter.
It's Winter now, paralysis ticks and leeches are out and about.
I can't pick when it's tick season now so I put some spray on any time I do a bit of weeding or planting in the reserve.

I treated my clothes with permethrin before going into tick country (Arkansas, Oklahoma), but I have to ask, what happens in summer?

Less leeches, more snakes I guess, and way better for weed spraying.
After a couple of hospital trips I stopped trying to work out "tick season" by seeing if I got any ticks then using Deet the next time out.
We've had really weird seasons since Covid started, probably from the lack of Chemtrails keeping the ecosystem in check.

I have run into a bunch of guys wearing the gps golf watches that I think are just nutty.

I can see it being useful for @stoney who does somewhat important stuff. But for me it's way more info than I could need or use.
Ha, guess I will find out now. The wife has been using a Fitbit to track her sleep and says it's helping, so she wanted me to get something. I found a deal on what is supposed to be a Garmin S60 for $120 (retail is like $300) so I figured why not. If it's a fail, I can eBay it for what I paid, if it's fake PayPal has me covered.
