HFX9 lever question

Kevin

The lever of my front HFX9 keeps falling out. I keep pushing the pin back in but it comes out just as quick riding of a curb or whatever.
Anyone had this problem or have a solution maybee?
Im selling the brake so it could really help maintaining a reasonable price.
:help:

Thnx

happed to me twice, go to your shop and see if theres a broken part(pretty sure) and they will replace it for less than 10$!

If the pin is steel and has little ribs on it, you need a new lever. The hole in the lever has become oversized allowing the pin to fall out.
I little bit of well placed red loctite might do the trick for cheaper.
Just be careful about keeping the loctite in the right place

Thanx man but I really dont understand what you mean by that :P
yeah i was about as clear as mud there!

what i meant is that Hayes now use bolts to hold on the lever blade, not the old pins. So if the hole is the same size as the current levers, you might just be able to get a bolt from Hayes and use that instead.

er, hopefully that makes a bit more sense

Is the piston falling out? The pin with the ball end? If that's the case the retaining washer is blown out. If you look inside the lever body where the master cylinder is there is a circlip holding the washer in place. It's there to rupture to keep the lever from bending in a crash.
