I dunno man. Why I certainly see a lot of teh bible thumping crazy around here, there is a documented rise in the number of people self identifying as atheist/agnostic, and it gives me hope. IMHO a lot of the crazy from the evangelical and religious communities is very similar to the crazy from the conservative right. Their grasp of "control and leadership" and loss of entitlement, as it were, is slipping and it makes them even more batty. Only the fundamentalists remain in a lot of cases, so of course the voices you hear are the extreme ones. I think reason is winning. It's slow, and it's overdue by a long shot, but it's coming.
