If he makes a decision based on fear rather than rationality, he'll be the same as all the other believers.

If there is a heaven and hell (and no, there isn't) Hitchens would end up right beside Mother Teresa anyways in the eternal fire. And then he'd call her a cunt.

My dad's been dealing with it for two years. The chemo/radiation didn't really work, so they ended up removing a good bit of his neck, half his tongue. His left cheek muscle was replaced with his left pectoral muscle, so now his arm isn't so useful either. He hasn't learned to swallow so eats through a tube in his stomach. He says he's refusing any further treatment if the chemo/radiation thing has to happen again. He'd rather just die.

ps. There is no god

I think he may get off the tube after some time, but it remains to be seen. He actually is doing okay at the moment. Got him out fishing on father's day.

WOW that is terrible, I hate to hear stuff like that. I know you believe "there is no god", but I'll certainly pray for your dad.

Yeah, that stuff's no big deal. Thanks for the well-wishes everyone.
Sorry to gay up the PAWN with personal stuff, but the throat cancer thing just made me think of it.
