Motherfucker, I still haven’t gotten to sleep yet. I have been suffering from really awful post nasal drip for a few months now, it’s awful. Finally went to the doc yesterday, he prescribed some sort of steroid spray that is just so, so disgusting. I have been snorting, sniffling, and trying to blow my nose for about 10 hours now to no avail.
Might as well just get up.
Humph indeed.

Morning Monkeys.

So I have now been tracking my sleep for 5 days and it's pretty sad. I am averaging 5 and a half hours with 30 minutes of that being deep sleep because I am constantly flip flopping in bed. No wonder I don't feel rested.

Sitting at everyone's favourite place, Starbucks, listening to this shitty music. Just need the sun to go up a few more inches and then I'll be able to read my laptop screen.

Waiting here, as I'm getting the fluid changed in the car's transmission, haldex and rear diff. JOY.

Horrible sleep last night, I could go for a nap right now.

I figured four days of being laid up from covid was enough, so I ventured out for a run this morning. Figured I'd go until my body had enough, and I called it quits at 6.3 miles. Felt pretty good, all things considered. My lungs hurt more than anything.

This is like a month after they invented crack
I grew up (in that period) just outside of the Bronx in Pelham. We had heard about it in ‘83 or so, it was definitely considered a street drug for the ghetto, basically. I think I first tried powder coke in the summer of ‘85. I wasn’t a rich kid, though, so I couldn’t really afford it. But crack was like $5.00 a small vial (maybe four or five hits).
It was all so new, people didn’t quite understand how addictive it was.
But I sure figured that out quick.
Ended up alone, in a $19.00 hotel in the Bronx, holding onto the door handle of the room while smoking my last hit. I guess I thought that if I collapsed, the door would open, and they would find me. (They probably would have just walked over me and stolen anything I had in the room).
I knew it was over. I had a moment of clarity, and that was the last time.
Funny thing, just like booze, I can (and have) seen a pound of pure sitting on a table since then, and there is absolutely nothing at all that would ever make me want to do it again.

Here. Busy as all hell today. Hoping that we can get this kart, but no guarantees yet. It's used but hasn't been raced, which is good. I think I know whose it was, but I still need to confirm. But at $3k vs. $6k for new, I'm all for it. That difference is over 10% of our annual costs, so it's huge.

My brother hit 35 years a few weeks back. His crack habit was next level, but that's his personality. It's funny because it wasn't until he took NA with the same effort as his habit that he beat it.

I tried the powdered stuff a few times back then, but I stuck with weed. :drag:

During his last relapse he offered me a hit of his Gerber jar while we were smoking a joint. He got pissed when I turned him down, but I think he understood.

Looks like the $21k and 5k lbs worth of solar gear "should" arrive today, let keep our fingers crossed for that mkay.

In other news,

few odds and ends to pack for Yellowstone still, I'm not procrastinating, I'm on a side quest

Yesterday I found out that a coworker spends that much per year on season tickets for soccer games. I tried not laughing.

Not that much, hence 'over 10%'. But when I look at our expenses historically, our costs that were resulting from skiing (toll, equipment, lessons, comp center, passes, excess gas, lodging ad hoc, etc) we were still at $15k.

Mtb is WAY cheaper once you have the equipment, $8k later and assuming you aren't breaking a lot of stuff.
