I saw some pics on pinkbike of that... I like to be outside when riding ladders, etc, in the trees where they are meant to be - on real trails. But I guess it is cool to be indoors if you really have to be.

haha, cool.

I like the way "mountain biking" is going these days...
Here's a concept: a lot of people live in places where there are little or no mountains at all.

Looks like fun.

Not to mention that 6 months out of the year Cleveland is a nasty mud slurpee.

Holy crap I just looked at the site and watched the video - that place is big and it looks like a ton of fun!
Ya I have got to say, i hate those stupid things outside (hi, i like dirt). But inside, over the winter, when there is 3 feet of snow outside, i could totally see myself enjoying them!

I think it would be fun. But I'm just saying I'm totally not used to seeing ladders indoors bacause I see so many of them built in wooded areas. BUt that's just me, and yes, it would hurt a bit more to fall onto cement.

Hats off to em and pppffftttt to anyone that thinks it's lame. It'd be cool to have the option over the trainer.

That is Awesome! I would totally ride there! that website makes me laugh though. "The Gnarliest. Tightest Technical stuff you'll find anywhere?" Thats hilarious!

"You getting the picture why we require protective gear?" First of all, that sentence is structured incorrectly, second, the guy in the picture is only wearing a dirtlid!

Although, I must say, whoever built that rules! I wish we could build one of those here. And yeah, I agree with the others... in the winter, rainy days, etc. there is somewhere to ride!

At first it looked like the place would get old real quick....but after watching the video and seeing the pictures of all the new stuff including that sick wall ride it looks like it might be worth driving ~10 hours to ride it!!!!

EHHH... cool... I guess. I hope these guys arent planning on making any money. Due to the negative population growth of cleveland the real estate is probably dirt cheap, but even so it seems like it would be difficult to draw enough riders to keep a place like that open. Personally Id rather just go to a good skatepark. Even so, its a cool idea, and its certianly the best thing to come out of Ohio recently.

sheot I'd like to see that here, inside or out. To many XC weenies like loco-gringo around these parts. :D

Look at the red-tape bs that we have to deal with.
"Fred is getting me a full size copy (24" X 36") of the parking lot plans. We will use the sheet showing the drainage area and draw (to scale) the placement of various technical features. We will also need to show the type of materials used. We will have to show the limits of construction (the extent of the area where the work will be done), silt fencing (placed/shown on the downgradient side of the LOC). If we will be working near any trees, we will need to show tree protection fencing on the plans as well. I do all that stuff at my job so I'm (way too) familiar with the process.

Once we have a set of plans ready, we will submit it to George Maldanado (Albert Perez's supervisor) and from their it will go to either Stewart Strong and/or the Parks Planning Board. Once approved by the Board, it will go to WPDR (City of Austin Watershed Protection and Development Review) to get permitted through PARD's General Permit. I do all that stuff at my job so I'm (way too) familiar with the process."[/qoute] :deadhorse:

and this is for an area designated as a MOTO park. No trails of coarse just an area next to the parking lot.

wait whats that a golden cheeked warbler.

Best thing to come out of Ohio recently, you realize Ohio has 4 of the best 5 skateparks that allow bikes in the country per ride magazine...

The first pictures where mostly the beg. and sport level sections, the expert section even as the video was made was only about 1/3 or so done.... The place is scheduled to open around thanksgiving and more stuff will probably be added changed continously.... Cleveland winters aren't so bad (yeah Right) but the local outdoor trails we do have are serious mud pies most of the late fall and into late spring...

actually, depends how much he charged. I had a whole budget worked out for a place about that size to stay open in a much more realistically priced market. Figure $4/sq ft (rent)+ $2sq/ft (for operations) (cnd).

I think after salaries, we figured it could be done on about 200 riders a month, paying $20 each. Or a mix thereof with season passes at $150
