Yeah, I just read that...pretty crazy stuff. I wasn't too surprised at Compton's placing, but Page's was a huge surprise to me. Sounds like he got some help from Nys' and Wellens' bad luck (Nys crashed 3 times and both Belgians were in the lead at one point), but still...second place is ridiculous. Based on the reports I've read, it seems like Page was actually in contention for the win until the end! Vervecken had to attack on the last climb to shake him off!
Big up to Page. The unfolding of the race seemed to be pretty wild. Crashes all over (like JRogers mentionned, Nys and Wellens were both out early with crashes). But Page certainly turned the gas on ! Seriously, what an upset considering that the level of cyclocross in Europe is head and shoulders above anything in N-America. Hope he gets picked up on a good cross team next year.
