WSJ report. HOLY ****BALLS!
If they do indeed do this, the market will likely be up 1000+ pts tomorrow. NOW is your chance to take some last minute profits before the marekt REALLY falls.

I do NOT recommend buying tomorrow, as the prices will be at a premium. If you are already in, take take some profits and reduce your exposure selling into the rising prices. If you are not underwater, at least TRY to get your initial capital out of the market. LEt your profits ride.

As long as the ACC keeps allowing those FSU chicks to keep wearing those low-cut shirts, I really dont care.

... carefull... VIX hit 42 with the highest volume of the year with the biggest market gain in 6 years...

Granted, the markets will experience further down later on this year, but methinks this bounce will have some decent legs...

just my 2c.

Already banned in europe and the european banks showed it today on out market specifically UBS and Deutsche . Depending on what happens with this plan, we could be in for another very bullish start tomorrow morning.

Stupid, unamerican nonsense.

I cant wait for the worst monday since 87.

...wasn't it more about ending naked short sales...?

(I'm being totally serious - no pun intended in spite of the football chicks above) :)

Yeah - it's pretty nuts out on The Street - my old roomate from Penn State was pretty high up on the totem pole at Lehman, and has been working on getting himself and his team over to another bank. Our other friend from Penn State is a hedgefund guy, and he took a pretty serious hit just last month from investors getting cold feet.

I get the feeling it's gonna get worse before it gets better...

The market is completely hosed because there is no way to assess risk any more.

Make a bad loan, get bailed out.

Never thought the republicans would be the ones pushing socialism, but after pushing for deregulation for so long, what would we expect.

If I ran my personal finances like the government runs its finances, I'd be in jail now.

I know taxes are unpopular, but sooner or later we need to start PAYING for all of this.

Why is ANYONE talking about tax cuts on either side?

I'm just glad I don't have kids. Your kids are going to have bail all of us out eventually unless we all man up and take that dose of medicine that we have been putting off for so long.

OK, wise ass, find us some pictures of hot Penn State chicks like the ones above.

Can't can you? They all look like JoePa!!
I think that may have something to do with the weather @ state college. I am sure there may be some hotties up there but they are wearing far too many clothes! :thumb:

The one of the right sure does have some child bearing hips.
No lie...aren't they amazingly gorgeous? Curvy hips like that are DEFINITELY an underated aspect to supreme hotness.

While this derail clatters to a halt, here are some more nice daisy dukes to take in-

*Tom Brady may very well recognize the chica on the right now that he surfs the monkey instead of playing football.

...I don't get it.

Because they went to Penn State, this equates to the cause of their problems at work...? Really?

You don't get to where they are by being a slacker OR incompetant.

Yup- - looks like its ALL types of shorts are being put on hold... damn...

Actually there are a TON of hot chicks at Penn State (main campus anyway, which was where I used to go).

Case in point, my friend Pam:

funny how the cure for this market malaise, which most people are attributing to the deregulation of certain banking sectors, is a government bailout + new regulation in the form of banning short selling on certain sectors of the market.

let's lower taxes and increase government spending again. that's always good for a laugh.

now if you pardon me I'm going to go see if i have enough quarters in the jar to buy some more rifle ammo. tax collector hunting season is JUST around the corner.

Anyone (Joker?) know if this actually makes sense?
(Saturday September 20 report)
based upon this guy's reading of the tea leaves we sure look screwed.

i encourage you to call or email your congressional representatives and tell them what parts of the bill you think are flawed.

EDIT: i re-read this, watched the 2nd video, and yeah this guy seems to have his head screwed on straight. i've contacted both of my senators and our House of Representatives person and it took less than 10 minutes. i encourage the rest of you to get informed on this topic and do the same.

That was a squeeze, somebody f*ed up and didn't hedge and had to buy a LOT of contracts. People realized it and held their postions, forcing a squeeze. no more, no less. It should drop tomorrow.
