Serious question. I imagine these injured little girls are getting top of the line medical care. How do the Amish reconcile that with their beliefs? Does it create any ethical concerns? How do they treat cancer or other illnesses?

Those are Jehovah's Witnesses you're thinking of. As long as the ambulance uses oats for fuel, the Amish are cool. (I hope that was running on biodiesel...it would be a shame to save them and have their soul be damned for eternity because of it.)

No I mean, these little girls are in the hospital, presumably hooked up to ventilators/heart machines/sensors of all kinds with the most modern and recent advances in medical technology available. I was wondering how the Amish sit with availing themselves of that technology while eschewing other forms of technology. I'm not saying they shouldn't avail themselves of that to save their lives but was just wondering what their stand on it was. I don't really know much about the Amish apart from watching Witness so I'm interested.

Oh yeah, I agree. There might be theological concerns there. Of course they should avail themselves of it, but I don't know if it is theologically correct in their eyes.
Xtian Scientists have the same hangups when it comes to medicine, which is why I brought it up.
