Does the mono 6 really stop you that much more than the 4's?

It seems to me that to get the added leverage you need for the 6's, the pad's would have to retract less than the pads of the 4's (which would be less than a single caliper brake)

So, is the 6 more susceptible to rubbing?

And do the hopes really stop you that much better than Hayes?
(I know your opinion Brian ;) )

They both stop well between the 4 & 6, as do the Hayes (who said that;)) the biggest difference as we know is the modulation especially compared to the Hayes. Hayes are super powerful brakes which i'll never deny, however the lever feel, slowing and stopping power of the Hopes are just amazing. Majority of the people who make the switch from Hayes to Hope never look back.

I said MAJORITY, I have never said they Hopes ALWAYS are perfect. They are a finiky brake to set up and dial in, sometimes it takes someone who knows how to work on them to get them right.

Been on Hopes for 4 or 5 years - they just keep getting better. I'm on the 4's and they are more than enough for DH. The 6's were made for tandem bikes. Talk with Gwen at Hope and she'll give you the low-down. I was originally planning on the 6's for the front, but she talked me out of it.

Can't say i have noticed too much power differance between the two tbh. Obviously dependant on how you set them up, but being from the UK, most of us are on hopes, so i've managed to get a good go on all of them, aswell as owning most of the brakes they produce/produced.

Can't say ive ever found them fiddly to dial in or get working.. as soon as there properly aligned your ready to rock, and as a result ive never had one single problem with any hope brake... always nice.. and yeah, they really are THAT much nicer than hayes :D

I was curious about the difference between the 4 and 6 myself. I got a 6 on the front and a Mono Mini on the rear. The front it awesome, but the Mini on the rear isn't enough power whatsoever for my fat a$$.

I think i'll just get the 6 as soon as I sell the Mono. You can never have enough power IMHO.

For the rear an M4 is more than plenty, but the 6's do look cool :D

Hope told me the Mono would be plenty!

So next time, i'll just get the 6 and get it over with. If I want less power I just won't pull as hard.

So Jeff you're thinking of converting:evil:
I've had two sets of Hope brakes... they were the C2's.

I liked the feel and stuff, but they were finicky. (They "chatter" a bit)
