i have a hope c2 (8 inch rotor) im trying to install in the front on an 02 z1
when i put the caliper on with no spacers its like ~2mm from the spokes and the pads are nowhere close to centered, with big space on the side closest the wheel and rubbing on the outer pad
like i have to move the caliper to the left but thats impossible?
this would be how it looks from sitting on the bike || |
i dont know if this made any sence at all because i am stupid
the rear 6" one is ok
is the front not going to work? the only thing i can see doing is file down the mount on the fork

no, ill take one when i get home from school . icant believe i forgot to take a pic, thats what i got the freakin camera for
but i think shimming the rotor would do the opposite of what i want, it would just make it rub on the side its moving to more
manthis is so hard to explain , but i have to go to school

heres a crappy pic if its small enough
as you can see the caliper is almost in the spokes and the rotor is rubbing the outside pad

is it safe to just file down the caliper? thats what i was thinking of doing but im not too sure about it

Actually the axle will be in the same spot no matter what. Its the hub you want to move over a 1mm. Take the cones out and swap a washer so the locknuts allow the hub to sit in the dropouts further over. You'll need to re-center the rim after you do this though. Probably best to get a shop to do it.

bending stuff in the ROC
yeah, if it's a Shimano hub, you should be able to slide the whole hub over enough to give you enough clearance. If you've ever taken one apart, and repacked the bearings, you'll know what I mean.
