Looking for some discs for my XC bike. Don't like hayes, have had some bad expierences with them, so they are out of the question. The formula/grimeca/and XT are possibilities, but I really like the Hope Mini. Have had great experiences with Hope in the past. I have heard of people having some problems with them squeling though. Anyone confirm this or have a solution to it?? thanks!

Yup they squeal. Its not a loud squeal, yet still annoying. People tell me all discs squeal to a degree so I'm not sure Hopes are any worse than others.

?*d?? Mini...when I first got them they squealed like a molested pig (huh)...anyway, I emailed Hope and they sent me a new set of pads.....
'au gratis'.......(aaaahhhh 4 nuttin') and the squeal has calmed a lot...still there a bit, but tolerable.

I also read that this has not worked for all. I also clean the rotor with mineral spirits or rubbing alcohol....seems to help.....when/if you get the new pads....wet them and ride around a bit it helps break them in.

Suzy has minis, and they squeal, yeah, even after we faced all her mounting stuff. Squeel squeel squeel.
