Well the first thing I do is eliminate all the fools that couldn't follow 2 simple rules. Click on the post count link in that forum and you'll see the double posters.

I then put x pieces of paper in one bag that is the page number in the thread, and 15 pieces of paper in a second bag with numbers 1-15 for the post number on the page that was drawn from bag one.

You know, I've always been kinda curious about the same too. I've won two big things online and it was all dumb luck. I always imagined the the process included a bunch of guys sitting around a computer while tossing back some beers.
