Has anyone converted the rear 12mm pro II to QR?

I found this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=18762

Going on the rear hub servicing video on the hope site it looks like I'd need a few special tools for the procedure (to change the axle): http://www.hopegb.com/page_mep_force_37.html It wouldn't be bad to have them as I have 4 sets of hopes now but they might be hard to get hold of them. Has anyone done this? Do you need the special tools just to change the axle around?

Naw, you don't need any special tools man...

Just take off the Freehub, hammer the axle out, pop the bearing off the 12mm axle and onto the QR, set the QR axle through and you're set...

It's really basic once you just do it, you'll know.

^^ agreed, not special tools necessary. You can make do by improvising with a few other things around the workshop, you just have to be a bit more careful.

It works exactly like the video shows, I used that to swap my axle out. The freehub was a bit harder than he makes it look, without that tool I couldn't get it to pop back in, but was able to work the seal around with my fingers and it went in.

Be real careful to put the seal back in all the way. I had to take my wheel off twice before I got it 100% right. There will be a ton of drag (more than a new pro II already has) if the seal isn't in just right. Not trying to deter you at all but I was glad I had this info before I started.

Just make sure the plastic bit seated into the hub body and the seal is fine...

Not that hard, just use a screw drive to push it all the way back into the body so it doesn't rub against the freehub.
