every year i bring back a dozzen bottles of Benjamines hot sauce from Jamaica. It's made from scotch bonnets, cane sugar and cane vinigar. Jamaica's best comes in flavours....fresh pineapple hot sauce, ginger, and mango my fav. Each are about a buck/bottle. I have never tasted better sauces.
I don't care for red Tabasco. The green jalapeno tabasco on a Chipotle burrito rules. Frank's Red Hot is nice for when you just want some zip not a lot of heat.
Ditto. However, I do use the other flavors - Garlic, Chipotle, Sweet & Spicy, and Habanero Tabasco depending apon the application. The vinegary taste is much less in them. If you order form the Tabasco Country Store you can get all in the 5oz bottles. (Gallons too, if you really want that much).
Another vote on the chalula, for mexican stuff. On things like hot dogs, hamburger, and sandwiches I loce eather russian hot mustard or chinese mustard.
